For PODYS fourth production we are excited to bring to you the specially adapted version for young performers of Les Miserables.

This epic story recounts the struggle against adversity of the ordinary people in France at the beginning of the 19th Century. Jean Valjean begins his parole after 19 years of imprisonment and sets out to lead an honest life, but when he breaks parole to help an orphaned girl he has adopted he is hunted by the relentless Inspector Javert.

Years later he rescues a young student revolutionary who is in love with his daughter and later saves the life of Javert. He dies in peace seeing his child safe and happy.

A musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg based on the novel by Victor Hugo. Music by Claude-Michel Schonberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, original text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel.
