‘Once Upon a Time…’ – Alix Swan

Alix Swan’s work started with her reminiscing about the story times of childhood that she shared with her mother and grandmother. Her innovatively illustrated story books and works are based on traditional fairy tales, fusing old and new technologies through found materials, original drawing, digital photography, stitch, collage, direct quotations and traditional bookbinding techniques. Alix is a professional 'fine art bookmaker and eclectic craftsperson', and has showcased her work at a number of exhibitions, galleries and fairs.
