Thursday 1st April to Wednesday 12th May Jo is influenced by the colours, textures and shapes of her surroundings and takes her inspiration from a 1960s Italian art movement called ‘Arte Povera’. This was founded by impoverished art students who used recycled materials for their creations, one of which was wire. Jo now has a passion for knitting and manipulating wire and this has evolved into making jewellery, jugs, teapots, plaques and candle holders. Her exhibition will also feature individually decorated fine paper shoes made from handmade paper alongside collages and textile beads that have been produced by fusing layers of materials overlaid with free machinery embroidery in vibrant iridescent colours.
