Adapted from David Pearce’s controversial bestselling novel, The Damned United tells the darkly humorous story of Brian Clough's doomed forty four day tenure as manager of reigning champions Leeds United in 1974. Starring Michael Sheen as the flamboyant and opinionated Clough who takes over as Leeds manager from bitter rival Don Revie (Colm Meaney) following their most successful period as a Football Club ever. Taking on ‘Don’s boys’, whose aggressive and cynical style of football is an anathema to him, without Peter Taylor (Timothy Spall) his trusted right-hand man and only friend at his side the job becomes a test of Clough’s brilliance and belligerence.
