Simon’s class is set a translation exercise by their high school French teacher on an article about the attempted bombing of an aircraft by a man who puts explosives into his pregnant wife’s baggage. This narrative and the truth about Simon’s past and how he came to be an orphan become intertwined in a compelling tale of discovery which provides a fascinating insight into truth, memory and prejudice.
