Wednesday 1st September to Thursday 2nd September Thursday 2 & Friday 3 September – 7.30pm
Directed by Radu MihailenauThirty years ago, Andrei (Alexei Guskov), the renowned conductor of the Bolshoi orchestra, was fired for hiring Jewish musicians. Now working as a janitor at the Bolshoi, he intercepts a fax from a Paris theatre inviting the Bolshoi Orchestra to perform. Posing as the leader of the group with a motley bunch of former musicians at his side, Andrei sets off for Paris to fulfill his destiny. Along the way, he reunites with a young, violin virtuoso (Melanie Laurent) who holds the key to his past and his future. This engaging French farce is moving and laugh-out-loud funny with exceptional music throughout.
