With her idle bourgeois lifestyle getting her down, well-to-do mother Suzanne (Kristin Scott Thomas) goes back to work as a physiotherapist in the south of France. Her husband (Yvan Attal) agrees to fix up a consulting room in their backyard but when Suzanne and the ex-con turned handy man hired to do the building work (Sergi López) meet, they feel a strong mutual attraction and begin a passionate affair. When her husband finds out about her transgression Suzanne must decide what price she is prepared to pay for love and self fulfillment.
