Saturday 6th March 2010 7.30pmWales enjoys a universal image as the ‘Land of Song’ and nowhere has this been better represented than in the Rhondda Valley where more than 125 years ago the world-famous Treorchy Male Choir was formed. Now an international institution Treorchy have toured in the UK, Canada, US and Australia, with a sell-out at the Sydney Opera House, and have shared the stage with some of the worlds’ greatest entertainers including Sir Tom Jones, Dame Shirley Bassey and a host of international stars. They have released almost sixty recordings, including a collaboration with Freddie Mercury and two feature films.
United in the common purpose of the enjoyment of music making and of giving pleasure to others Treorchy will be taking to the stage at Number 8 to share this enjoyment with the people of Pershore.
