In person and telephone bookings Mon to Sat 10am – 4pm and from 6pm on performance evenings. In addition we are available for bookings via telephone on weekday performance evenings between 4 and 6pm.

Online Booking
To book online simply click on the film or event you would like to see, then click ‘Book Online’. Please note that on the day of a screening/event online booking closes at 9am for shows that day (starting before 6pm) and at 4pm for shows that evening. When booking online there is an additional charge of £1 per ticket for tickets costing £10 and above, or 80p per ticket for those under £10. These charges are capped at a maximum of £6 per transaction.

Seating
Number 8 operates allocated seating. To see our seating plan click here.

Seats on row J can provide a restricted view for young children attending live events as there is a guard rail. Row J can also be a restrictive view for adults for live dance performances (the feet of the dancers may be obscured by the guard rail).

Seats on the front row (row A) of the auditorium can be reserved for wheelchair users and patrons with mobility problems. For further access details click here. Please advise Box Office when booking if you require a wheelchair space or any additional assistance.

Payment
We accept payment in cash, debit or credit card, cheque (made payable to Number 8) or Number 8 Gift Tokens. Please note if you pay by cash or debit card Number 8 incurs lower bank charges (every little helps!).

Reservations
With the exception of group bookings we do not take reservations.  If you would like to bring a group of ten or more please contact Emma on 01386 561906 or email programming@number8.org to discuss arrangements.

General Concessions
Concessions are available, where specified, for children age 16 and under, senior citizens age 60 +, and students in full-time education. Proof of eligibility is required. Children under the age of 3 are free of charge if they are to be seated on a parent/guardian’s lap.

School/Group Bookings
Discounts are available for group bookings. For every 10 tickets you book for Number 8 films or events the 11th is FREE. To claim this discount please contact Box Office. Advance booking is recommended. If you would like to reserve seats for a group please contact 01386 555028 / enquiries@number8.org

Refunds
Our standard policy is that we are unable to give refunds or exchange tickets unless the event is cancelled.

CEA Card
The CEA Card is a national card scheme developed for UK cinemas by the UK Cinema Association (UKCA).  The card enables a cinema guest with a disability to receive a complimentary ticket for someone to go with them when they visit a participating cinema. CEA card holders can obtain a FREE ticket for a person accompanying them to film screenings and events beamed in via satellite. For further details or to apply for a CEA Card click here.

If you do not have a CEA card but you are able to show proof of receiving / holding one of the following, we will be able to issue you with a free carer ticket for film screenings:

  • Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
  • Attendance Allowance (AA)
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Adult / Child Disability Payment
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
  • Severely Sight Impaired Registration
  • Sight Impaired Registration

Admissions
For live and satellite events admission for latecomers is at the Duty Manager’s discretion. Latecomers will only be permitted if there is a convenient break in the performance. For certain shows there may not be a convenient break in the performance so no latecomers will be admitted.

Number 8 welcomes young audiences to appropriate screenings and events. Film screenings are classified by the British Board of Film Classification as 18, 15 12A, PG or U and access is restricted in line with these classifications. For further details click here. Children aged 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult (16+) at screenings and events. We always recommend that children are accompanied by an adult, but will admit children aged 12 and over without accompaniment.

The only dogs permitted on the premises are assistance dogs.

Refreshments
Our evening bar is open one hour prior to screenings serving hot and cold drinks, and snacks. A selected range of refreshments, including canned alcoholic drinks, are available to take into the auditorium with you.
