A horn concerto that, “draws its wellsprings of inspiration from the great symphonic tradition with considerable inventive flair, economy of thought and wit”(Gramophone Review) is performed by OOTS principal horn, Francesca Moore-Bridger. This is matched with an Ireland masterpiece originally written for brass band, later arranged for string orchestra, and ending with the work which catapulted Britten onto the international music scene.
