After
receiving news of the death of his projectionist friend Alfredo (Philippe
Noiret), Salvatore, a famous film
director, returns to his Sicilian home village after 30 years away. Salvatore
recalls his childhood in the aftermath of WWII, where his lifelong passion for
film began with trips to the local cinema.
