Charles (Tim
Key), an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island, dreams of
getting his favourite band, McGwyer Mortimer, back together. His fantasy
becomes reality when the bandmates and former lovers Nell (Carey Mulligan) and
Herb (Tom Basden) accept his invitation to play a private gig at his home on
Wallis Island. Reunited after many years of not speaking, it soon becomes
apparent that Herb has unresolved feelings for Nell, but does she feel the same
way? As old tensions between the bandmates resurface, Charles tries desperately
