Il Postino (U)

This Oscar-winning classic set on a beautiful Italian island in the early 50s follows Mario, a shy local man who takes on the role of postman.

His job is to deliver mail to the island’s newest inhabitant, exiled Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. Developing an unlikely friendship with the poet, Mario is inspired to find the words to declare his love to Beatrice, the local barmaid he has long been in love with but too nervous to approach.
