WWII veteran Bernard Jordan (Caine) escaped from his care home in June 2014 to attend the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in France. Jordan’s 48-hour adventure sparked a police search and made headlines around the world, thrusting him and his beloved wife Irene (Jackson) into the media spotlight.

The film was Glenda Jackson’s last role before her death and is Michael Caine’s final film before he retires from acting.
