Our Winter programme is here and booking is now open – hooray! This season is packed with a variety of film screenings, events, workshops and exhibitions scheduled for over the months ahead. So get your diaries out and book in some trips to Number 8!

To kick off the season poet Brian Bilston, the ‘Poet Laureate of Twitter’ will be taking to the stage on Thursday 1 December for an evening of poetry, wit and word play. There’s plenty of festive fun in store with the panto Maid Marian & the Merry Men from resident company PODS, two very different productions of The Nutcracker from Matthew Bourne and The Royal Ballet, a GreenMatthews concert celebrating Christmas music past, plus Festive Folk in The Foyer, and a Berliner Philarmoniker New Year’s Eve Concert live via satellite.

Classical music lovers can look forward to screenings of Andre Rieu in Dublin and Earthcycle a live concert from Orchestra of the Swan. There’s also music from The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars’ celebrating the legendary jazz venue and A Tribute to Neil Diamond. Theatre goers are invited to An Audience with King Henry VIII, and new productions beamed in from the National Theatre. Plus, there are world class operas and ballets beamed in via satellite from the Royal Opera House.

Winter films highlights include the eagerly anticipated Matilda the Musical, acclaimed Martin McDonagh drama The Banshees of Inisherin, the dark and whimsical Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, and the new German film adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front.

There’s the opportunity to get creative in a Christmas Wreath Workshop, try your hand at Pop Up Painting, or keep the children busy in a Crafty Christmas Workshop. Alternatively, you can take an afternoon to Sip and Sketch in The Foyer, brush up your language skills at a Language Café, or simply relax and appreciate the exhibitions on display while enjoying a cuppa.
