Number 8 is managed and staffed by over 230 volunteers working alongside a small team of paid staff. Volunteers lead the management team and work in a variety of roles across the organisation – from customer facing roles like coffee bar assistants and stewards to work behind the scenes as admin assistants, or as part of the maintenance team.
By becoming a Friend you will be supporting our work to showcase the very best of local, national, and international arts and entertainment. You will also be helping us to provide arts education, projects, exhibition space, and facilities for the community and school groups.
As a registered charity Number 8 welcomes donations to support our mission to provide arts and leisure activities, education, and opportunities. Any donation you can make, whether large or small, will help us to continue the work we do to enhance the cultural life and wellbeing of the community.
Number 8 runs the Just After 8 Charity Shop, situated just around the corner at 23 Broad Street. We welcome donations of second-hand books, furniture, bric-a-brac, DVDs, jewellery and CDs. Funds raised by the shop help to support Number 8’s activities and special projects.
From our initial development through to the present day Number 8 has benefited from funding and support from a range of public and private funders, trusts, foundations and companies.
