Number 8 Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Posted on Dec 02, 2024We are all set to celebrate our 20th Anniversary this December. Number 8’s first public event was the opening night gala Showstoppers! by Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) on Saturday 4 December 2004. The opening came at the end of years of campaigning and fundraising by local people to develop an arts centre in Pershore.
Now, twenty years on, we will be marking our anniversary with a special celebratory event for volunteers, members of our Friends scheme, and invited guests on Thursday 5 December. The evening will be a celebration of all that has been achieved so far, and the many more successful years to come.
Guests will be treated to the premier screening of a short film about Number 8, a presentation featuring highlights from Number 8’s history and plans for the future, plus performances from our resident company PODS, and dancers from our popular Chance to Dance classes. Attendees will also have the opportunity to mingle at a Drinks Reception and toast to the Number 8’s continuing success.
Chair of Trustees Tony Rowley says, “We felt that it was important to mark our 20th anniversary and thank all of those that have contributed to the Number 8’s development and play a part in the centre’s continuing success. This is a great opportunity to reflect on all that has been achieved so far and look forward to continuing success in the future.”
